FAQ
Honest answers.
How clean are the crates?
Washed and dried after every move. If a crate arrives at your door looking like it had a hard week, message us — we will swap it out same day.
What happens if a crate is damaged or lost?
We charge R380 per crate that does not come back, and the same for crates returned with structural damage (cracked sides, broken hinges). Light cosmetic wear is on us.
Can I keep them longer than 7 days?
Yes — R200 per extra week, paid before collection. Tell us by WhatsApp before the collection date.
How do I cancel?
Free reschedule more than 48h before delivery, or a full refund less the ~3% card fee. 24–48h: Free reschedule or 75% refund. Less than 24h: R250 reschedule fee or 50% refund. Day-of: no refund. Full terms at getschlep.co.za/legal/refund-policy.
How many crates do I actually need?
Studio = 15. One-bed = 25. Two-bed = 40. Three-bed = 50. If you are a heavy reader or you have a big kitchen, size up. For a more precise count, try the crate calculator.
Do you serve my suburb?
Sandton, Bryanston, Fourways, Rosebank, Linden, Parkhurst, Greenside, Melville, plus a few neighbours. The Service Area page has the full list, and a form to ask us if you are not on it.
Do you deliver to estates and complexes?
Yes. We send the driver name, vehicle, and number plate to you the morning of delivery so you can clear it with security or the estate WhatsApp group. Steyn City, Dainfern, Waterfall, and the Saxonwold security cluster all included.
Can I get them on a Saturday morning?
Yes — most moves are Saturday. Slots from 7am to lunchtime fill first; book early in the week to lock in your time.
Do I need to be home for delivery and collection?
Someone needs to sign and check the count. If you cannot be there, send us a name and number — we will confirm with whoever is.
Are the crates safe for fragile stuff?
Sturdier than cardboard, but not magic. We sell bubble wrap and packing paper as add-ons — order with your kit and they arrive in the first crate.
